We collect minimal personal information:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to our recall alerts or newsletter.
- Basic analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal data. We receive aggregate data about page views and traffic sources, but not information that identifies individual users.
- No cookies — we do not set tracking cookies. If you see a cookie notice, it is from a third-party advertiser, not from us.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Email: to send recall alerts and the weekly digest you signed up for. We use Brevo to manage email delivery.
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, and message content are used solely to respond to your inquiry. These are transmitted to our team via email and are not stored in a database.
- Analytics: to understand how the site is used in aggregate so we can improve it. No individual-level data is collected.
- We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties, except as described in this policy (email service provider, analytics).
3. Email Alerts
Our email service is fully compliant with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We use a double opt-in process — you must confirm your subscription via email before receiving any messages. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We store consent records including the timestamp, IP address, and source page of your subscription as required by CASL.
4. Advertising and Affiliate Links
We display third-party advertisements, including Google AdSense (when active). Google and other ad networks may use cookies to serve personalized advertisements based on your browsing history. This is governed by their own privacy policies. To opt out of Google personalized advertising, visit adssettings.google.com.
We may also include affiliate links (such as Amazon Associates Canada). When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a tracking cookie to attribute purchases. These cookies are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy. Clicking an affiliate link does not cost you anything extra.

- Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.
- Consent records (timestamp, IP address, source page) are retained for 3 years as required by CASL.
- Aggregate analytics data is not tied to individuals and is retained for site improvement purposes.
